cold hearts in celebration
Since "Frozen", each of the characters has become his/her own franchise, including Olaf. At 21 minutes, "Olaf's Frozen Adventure" is unusually long for a short. It's basically an excuse for the fast-talking snowman to engage in silly antics, while Elsa and Anna are background characters.

It's nothing special. I figure that Disney wants to sate the franchise as much as possible. It'll probably be more enjoyable to the younger crowd, especially since it got released as an intro to the more cerebral "Coco". What's probably more important about the franchise is the voice artists' standing up for political issues (more important than ever in the current climate).
Disney Megacorpse pictures a Grinch-like character . . .
. . . gathering up all of a region's Christmas Traditions, heaping them into a Clampett Truck-like pile atop an over-burdened sleigh, and then sending the Whole Shebang down to a fiery conflagration at the bottom of a particularly deep abyss as the Low-Light of OLAF'S FROZEN ADVENTURE. After thus eliminating the last shreds of evidence that Humanistic Culture ever existed, Disney then replaces this Lost Wealth of homey, home-made idiosyncratic (admittedly quaint) customs with Princess Elsa's cold, sterile, frigid, uniform, Frosty Stylings to close out this Paean to Plastic Big Bucks Consumerism. After viewing OLAF'S FROZEN ADVENTURE, many if not most of America's parents will find it necessary to sit down with their tots to warn them of the Dangers posed by Disney's Frozen Heart. With a Business Model far more Unconstitutional than CNN's (which the Vlad Putin\Don Juan Rump Administration's U.S. Dept. of Injustice is currently attacking), Disney Megacorpse is trying to use every arm of its Media Octopus to snatch away any capacity for Critical Thinking from America's Youth, replacing their "Gray Matter" with Olaf's strained ice-melt brains.
Just seen the short and all I gotta say is nice
Frozen. Since it debuted on this day 4 years ago it has become a successful animated film of all time. In 2015 we had a 6 minute short called Frozen Fever which was playing in front of Kenneth Branagh's Cinderella and now here we are with yet another so called short dubbed Olaf's Frozen Adventure which was playing with Coco.

The majority of people detested this short because of its running time of 24 minutes. Yes this short is 24 minutes long. So what is it about. Olaf(voiced by Josh Gad) is on a mission with Sven(Kristoff's reindeer)to find ways of how families spend their Christmas and what traditions they have since Anna and Elsa(voiced by Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel)never celebrated Christmas before and its up to Olaf and Sven to give Anna and Elsa their own tradition for the holiday season.

Like the film back in 2013 this has a total of 6 songs to be exact from Ringing The Bells to Its That Time of Year as the first short had just the one song Making Today A Perfect Day. It is obvious that Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell have very strong vocals as their singing was on par here. Josh Gad is still as annoying as ever(since 2017 was a big year for him from the remake of Beauty & The Beast with Emma Watson and Dan Stevens, later he teamed up with Stevens in Marshall and now this short from Frozen).

Now a lot of people think I hate Frozen and I don't hate it I found the 2013 film very good but it is a very overrated film and this short is definitely a cash grab for its upcoming sequel Frozen 2 released in 2019.

Forced to watch this...Literally
Why on earth was this included as part of Coco????? Kind of got bored, because we were eagerly waiting for Coco to start. Would have rated 6+,but it was quite senseless to add before coco. Had to recheck my tickets to ensure I had actually booked for Coco. 20 minutes of senseless short movie
Should have went straight to TV.
'OLAF'S FROZEN ADVENTURE': Two and a Half Stars (Out of Five)

Walt Disney Animation Studio's new 21-minute short film, featuring characters from Disney's 2013 immensely popular blockbuster 'FROZEN'. The short was originally intended to be a Christmas television special, on ABC, but it's instead being released in theaters, before the Pixar feature 'COCO' (and 21-minutes is really long compared to most Pixar and Disney shorts). Josh Gad, Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel and Jonathan Groff all reprise their roles from the 2013 hit film. It was written by Jac Schaeffer, and it was directed by Kevin Deters and Stevie Wermers (the duo previously helmed the Christmas themed 'PREP AND LANDING' short films). I think this short film should have went straight to TV, as Disney originally planned.

In this holiday themed adventure, Olaf (Gad) and Sven setout to find the perfect Christmas tradition for Elsa and Anna to celebrate. There hasn't been one, for the sisters, since their parents' deaths. Olaf winds up losing most of what he collects, and ends up in danger. It's then up to Sven to go find help and save him.

I think Disney should have kept it's plans to release the short as a TV Christmas special, because that's exactly what it feels like to me. It's way too long to play before a feature kids movie as well, and kids were definitely getting inpatient at the theater I saw it at (I've also heard of complaints in many other locations too). The quality just doesn't compare to other Pixar and Disney shorts either. It's a TV show, that's what it feels like, and that's what it should have been released as. I think it's theatrical release was a very unwise decision by Disney. Kids might enjoy it on TV still though, in future Christmas seasons to come.

Exceptionally trite.
Exceptionally trite. This way-too-long "short" exemplifies the corny jokes and obnoxious snowman gags that made Frozen so unenjoyable.

I wasn't a fan of Frozen and only sat through this because it played before Coco on opening day. The parents and children seated near me also expressed visible annoyance at being force fed this lame holiday medley. One kid even said "THANK YOU!" once the credits finally rolled.
seems like wrong movie
wasting time 21 minutes before coco film. I hate it, my friend too, my family also, that's all. I hope I'll find fast forward button to skip this movie. why Disney put that movie before coco? 21 minutes are like 21 hours. Nobody came to see frozen short movie right before a film about kid who lost in the other world. wrong film in the wrong place. so much people don't like it. congratulations, Disney make the auditions feel bad mood because of "short" movie.
How to turn a masterpiece short Pixar tradition into a Disney commercial soulless
I used to look for the Pixar's shorts previous to their movies as the little place where the new talent can risk, and eventually (the most of the times) come with a little masterpiece. Disney has killed that. Olaf's Frozen Adventure is a perfect technical piece of void. No soul, no risk, nothing new, just the old fashioned automatic script applied and extended for too much run time.
Totally Unnecessary
Coco was a really great movie. I loved it, except for the fact that I had to wait for almost half an hour to watch it because of this awful long short movie. It was stupid, unnecessary and make me really impatient, because I went to the movie theatre to watch Coco, not another stupid Frozen short. If you go watching Coco at cinemas, you can enter the movie twenty minutes later and you won't miss anything.

Why Disney, why?
Disney has reached the bottom
Let me start with my son. He is 10 years old and a big fan of everything that has animation in it. He has seen Frozen, he remembered the very first Frozen trailer (remember the one with Olaf and Sven on the frozen lake?) and he was looking forward to this short. And guess what? When it ended, he told me: "Disney, I HATE you for this!"

That's nicely wrapping it up. This short is a ridiculous caricature of the things that once made Disney great. It looks as if someone was making fun of Disney classics by exaggerating everything to the point of being of unbearable. The movie features the singing of songs that sound as if generated by a computer, the actions of cliché characters that leave us completely untouched, and a story that is neither funny, nor exciting, nor touching, nor interesting. It's pure kitsch. Watching the movie is like eating a cake that only consists of sugar and tastes of nothing.

If Disney's idea was to market the next Frozen movie, this short has failed spectacularly. At least in our family, no-one feels any inclination anymore to watch Frozen 2. Congratulations.
