Robert Kouba began his career in his home country Switzerland. He started being involved in the visual arts early on. At a very young age he started pursuing painting, but quickly switched his focus to moving pictures. His science-fiction short "Xenopia" won major award s when he was just 12 years old. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in economics he started following his passion for film by attending the cinematic arts program at the eminently respectable SAE Institute in Zurich. He received his first recognition in 2010 when he directed the award wining science-fiction short film "Translucent Unicorn" (2010) for Philips as part of their international campaign to promote their new television. He is currently working on his debut on the highly anticipated science-fiction thriller "The Rift" (2012).
